Named U.S. Marine Corps Officer's Philippine Islands Carved Desk Box

The carved wooden box is approximately 8-3/4 inches by 11-1/4 inches by 3 inches deep. The box is named to 'Lt. W. G. Reddick U.S.M.C.', with the designation of 'Sanglly Pt. Phil.'. This was presumably the U.S. Naval Station Sangley Point, a communication and hospital facility of the United States Navy which occupied the northern portion of the Cavite City peninsula and is surrounded by Manila Bay, approximately eight miles southwest of Manila, the Philippines. Very good condition.
