You are bidding on a VERY NICE used example of a WW2 German Luftwaffe MG15 Chamber Cleaning Tool! Tools of this type were issued to armorers for routine service and upkeep of aircraft-mounted machine guns.This tool was used for cleaning carbon and residue buildup in the chamber and locking or barrel extension areas of German aircraft machine guns. Rather than removing metal, it was designed to scrape fouling and deposits caused by sustained firing and steel-cased ammunition. Hand-operated tools like this were critical for maintaining reliability of MG 15, MG 17, and related Luftwaffe machine gun systems.Made of steel, item is in EXCELLENT condition for its age!There is some slight marks and wear, but it is still VERY solid!Features aT-handle grip and multi-fluted scraping head. No markings are visible, however this came to me with a large quantity of MG15 and MG17 Tools some time ago. PERFECT for any collection or display!
