This instrument was used in various U.S. military aircraft, such as the B-52 Stratofortress!A magnetic aircraft compass provides directional reference by indicating the aircraft's heading relative to the Earth's magnetic field. Panel-mounted compasses of this type were commonly installed in military aircraft as a primary or standby navigation instrument and were often equipped with internal lighting for low-light or night operations. Instruments like this were used across a variety of aircraft and helicopters rather than being specific to a single airframe.Made of plastic and aluminum, this item is in EXCELLENT used condition!The metal case shows surface wear, paint loss, and handling marks consistent with age and service use. The dial remains legible with clear markings, and the viewing window is intact with visible operational wear. The rear electrical connector and wiring pigtail are present as shown. No functional or electrical testing has been performed. I have shown a similar compass in the cockpit of the B-52 in the last photos.
