Waffen-SS Gebirgsjäger mountain boots (Bergschuhe für Gebirgsjäger/Ski-jäger). Due to the nature of the terrain and the often colder environment in which the Gebirgsjäger divisions were deployed, special clothing, equipment, and footwear were developed for them. This is a nice pair of Waffen-SS 'Bergschuhe' for Gebirgsjäger/Ski-jäger, made of dark leather, complete with all the iron fittings. The boots are modeled after the Finnish 'Lapplander' type of boots. The boots are nicely maker marked by the company 'Wefsels' and dated 1942. The pair is a large size '11' (45), which is a perfect size for a mannequin. The boots have six eyelets to close. The pair shows normal signs of wear. This is a perfect pair for creating an SS Ski-/Gebirgsjäger display. A hard-to-find pair of genuine Waffen-SS 'Gebirgsjäger' boots!
