Description

Post WWII US M-1 MP Helmet for 90thInfantry Division-This is for a 90thInfantry Division military police person, aka the 'Tough Ombres' or 'Texas Oklahoma Division'. The shell is of late WWII vintage with Vietnam era chinstraps. The exterior of the shell has the standard green finish with a wide, white stripe around the perimeter broken up at the front with the large MP lettering. In between the letters is the symbol for the division. 'TO' in red. The shell is a swivel bale, rear seam example. The liner is finished in off white on the exterior and has 'POLICE' across the front in large blue letters. The liner is early 1950's vintage, being marked by both CAPA and Westinghouse. It has the dark OD 7 webbing that is missing the drawstring. It is missing the leather chinstrap. The headband is dated 1964. So this is a combination of WWII, Korean War and Vietnam vintage components. Cool!
