You are bidding on a GOOD example of a WW2 German Wehrmacht Cavalry Wagon Grease Pot!This grease pot was used with German cavalry and horse-drawn wagon equipment for storing grease used in the lubrication of axles, hubs, and other moving components in the field. Issued for transport and cavalry units, these pots were a standard accessory carried with wagons and maintenance gear to support routine service of rolling stock during wartime operations.Made of steel, this Cavalry Wagon Grease Pot is in VERY NICE used condition. Marked,CKF 43, it has been re-painted at one point of time, and does show some marks, wear, and scratches throughout. The main latch that secures the lid closed is missing, however one could easily weld a steel loop back on quite easily. The carry handle is present, and the body remains solid and structurally sound. This is a display or filler example, PERFECT for any cavalry, wagon, or field equipment collection!
