Description

A really lovely example of a Subordinate Forestry cutlass with de-luxe, extra cost, fittings and original green knot. All brass hilt is cast with perfect detail. The front ferrel features a sitting hare, the reverse one a fawn or small deer. Clamshell features a large stag. The grips are matched stagbhorn with matching 3 brass acorns on each side. Brass fittings to the scabbard with the upper frog 'lug' cast with a standing pheasant or similar. The lower scabbard fitting is deeply cast/embossed with many oak leaves!! Black scabbard leather is perfect. The blade is in stone mint condition. It is etched horizontally not vertically(along the blade) and is beautifully etched with forest scenes, wild boar running, and a panel which says 'In Treue Fest'. Reverse of the blade has different scenes featuring running deer and wolves in a forest. Fantastic work. Best I have seen. The reverse riccasso has the Clem & Jung name as well as their shield trademark. A really beautiful dagger. The sale of Knives and other Edged Weapons are restricted to those aged over 18.
