Third Reich Forestry High Officials Visor Cap-This was recently acquired by us from the family of the veteran who brought it home. We shall supply the name of the veteran to the buyer. It is for a high official in the forestry service. The cap is a private purchase example produced in a high quality dark green wool that is in near excellent condition, remaining very clean and having minor tracking to the top panel. It is ever so slightly out of shape. There is dark green piping and a dark green badge cloth center band. Insignia consists of a silver finished zinc eagle retaining the finish, a bullion wreath and a nickel silver cockade with toning and a red felt bulls eye. There is a silver bullion double chin cord. There is a black vulkanfibre visor with minor wear and crazing. The underside is cream finished and crosshatched. The interior is fully lined in gold rayon that has minor wear and discoloration from use. There is a diamond shaped moisture shield with maker nomenclature. The tan leather sweatband is present but it is loose and detached from a major portion of the interior. The initials K.W. are written onto the sweatband. It is embossed with the maker name in script on one side as well as 'Stirndruckfrei' on the opposite side. It is a large size, 60. A very good example overall!
