WWII German Army Feldgendarmerie (Field Police) Officer Visor Cap-This great, privately purchased example is produced in soft, field gray wool in a classic tellar shape. It is super clean and has only the slightest hint of wear and one tiny nip on the top panel. The rare orange piping is clean and fully intact. The center band is dark green badge cloth. The insignia is all aluminum with most of the finish intact including the cockade with a red felt bulls eye. The chinstrap is the officer style in silver bullion. The visor is black vulkanfibre with minor crazing only. The underside is crosshatched and finished in a cream hue. The interior is fully lined in a faded red (looks like pink) silk. It has minor wear and discoloration from use. The moisture shield is rhomboid shaped and fully intact. The size is a large 59. The maker nomenclature for G.A. Hoffmann of Berlin is seen. The model is 'Meister-Klasse'. The sweatband is tan ersatz leather. It is soft and has minor wear, a few small tears and discoloration from use. Overall near excellent and very desirable!
