WWII German Army Infantry Other Ranks Visor Cap, Private Purchase-This private purchase example is produced in soft, field gray wool in a classic tellar shape. It is clean, with minor wear and tracking in a few spots. There are a few small moth nips on the underside of the cap, please see pics. The white infantry piping is fully intact with minor discoloration. The center band is dark green badge cloth. The insignia is zinc, with most of the finish present on the cockade and wreath but mostly missing on the eagle. The chinstrap is black leather and fully intact with minor fading. The visor is black vulkanfibre with minor fading and crazing. The underside is cream colored with some wear from use. The interior is fully lined in gold rayon. It has minor discoloration and moderate wear with some missing material. There was a moisture shield but it is missing. You can see the maker nomenclature but it is heavily worn. The sweatband is tan leather. It has a significant amount of wear and is fragile. There are initials on the sweatband, JR. The cap is a size 57. Overall a very good example!
