US Civil War Large Format Officers Group Photo, St.Louis Photographer

Original era manufacture. A large format outdoor image measuring roughly 7.5x9 inches (image only, not the matt). The subject matter is a group of 12 soldiers, most of them at least field grade by their double breasted frock coats. They are clustered around a large table with a map on it's top. Two enlisted men hold the regimental colors at the center of the image, while a third enlisted soldier leans against a barracks roof support in the background. The reverse of the matt reveals the photographers information of one, W.L.Troxel of St.Louis. An old penciled inscription asks that the image be returned to the donor as it is valued by him. The image has been knocked about considerably in the last 150 years or so, yet good details can be seen, perhaps these men and unit can be identified.
