Description
Very attractive M36 pattern officer's tailored field blouse, issued to a medical officer (Hauptarzt) with the rank of Hauptmann. This tunic is a fine example of a privately tailored wartime piece and remains complete with its original, period-applied insignia. The collar tabs and shoulder boards feature dark blue Waffenfarbe, correctly denoting the medical branch. An original Afrika campaign cuff title is still applied to the sleeve, adding strong historical and display value. The blouse is of a good, wearable size and shows honest wartime wear, including a few period field repairs, which only enhance its authenticity and combat history. There are no major damages or structural issues. One pocket is manufactured in a slightly different shade of field-grey cloth, yet is original to the tunic. This variation is fully consistent with wartime production and material shortages, and does not represent a later replacement. The tunic displays numerous medal/award loops, making it an excellent candidate for a complete and attractive display or mannequin setup with many awards.Overall, this is a highly desirable and original M36 officer's tunic, with Africa campaign history, and excellent visual appeal, a centerpiece item for any advanced WWII German militaria collection.
