Measuring approx. 14″ x 17″, this was issued as a special-purpose military map, intended for field use by German ground forces. Compact in format, these maps were well suited for carry in map cases and active operational use.German Sonderkarte maps were produced as specialized editions derived from captured or existing base maps, often reworked for immediate military needs. At a 1:100,000 scale, they provided an effective balance between regional coverage and tactical detail, showing terrain, waterways, elevation contours, road networks, and settlements critical for troop movement and planning.
