Social Welfare Medal on Female Ribbon

Social Welfare Medal (Medaille für Deutsche Volkspflege). On 1 May 1939, Hitler introduced a series of four Social Welfare awards to replace the earlier DRK (Deutsche Rotes Kreuz) awards. This is the fourth class. The medal is a tombak (Buntmetall) example, the details on the piece really pronounced and stunning. The medal is period mounted on a ribbon for women, complete with safety-pin to the reverse. Nice original medal in very good condition!
