German WWI Imperial Army Buckle for Bavaria-This is an early imperial buckle made in two pieces. This is made of two-piece brass with a silver rondel. The details on the rondel are excellent. It shows only the slightest wear.The roundel depicts an Imperial crown beneath the Bavarian motto 'In treue Fest' meaning 'in steadfast loyalty.' The rondel has toned some, giving it a complementary look to the buckle itself. The brass buckle body shows a deep patina, with some dark shades to the untouched age toning.This is a solid buckle. This design was later changed to a single piece version to save resources. This is an interesting early buckle. Bargain priced.
