The reverse sides display hand-sewn construction, field tailoring characteristics, and age-related staining, leaving no doubt as to their originality. These are genuine veteran-used insignia, not later-assembled or collector-enhanced pieces. The group was obtained via an intermediary directly from the Blumentritt family, providing highly desirable provenance. Günther Blumentritt was a senior and respected Wehrmacht officer, serving notably as Chief of Staff to Field Marshal von Rundstedt and later as a corps commander on the Western Front. His award of the Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves places him among a select group of highly decorated German generals, significantly enhancing the historical importance of this insignia set.
