You are bidding on a SUPERB and 100% original WW2 German Wehrmacht grouping consisting of an autographed image of GeneralJohannes Albrecht Blaskowitz, as well as two original photos (one depicting General. Erwin von Witzleben)!Unlike most of the autographs you see, this is a WARTIME signed photo (not post-war).Johannes Albrecht Blaskowitz (10 July 1883 β 5 February 1948) was a German general during World War II and recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords.Blaskowitz led the 8th Army during the Invasion of Poland and was the Commander in Chief of Occupied Poland from 1939 to 1940; he had written several memoranda for the German High Command protesting the atrocities. e was dismissed, but then re-appointed. He commanded Army Group G during the Allied invasion of Southern France and Operation Nordwind, the last major German offensive of World War II on the Western Front.After the war, he was charged with war crimes in the High Command Trial at Nuremberg. While in custody facing trial he died on 5 February 1948, purportedly of suicide. He was posthumously acquitted on all counts.Made of paper, this photo is in EXCELLENT condition! Featuring an artistic image ofJohannes Friessner, it is signed in ink at the bottom, and is dated June 6, 1942.
