QSA 1899-1902 With clasps for Cape Colony, Orange Free State, South Africa 1901 & South Africa 1902To- LIEUT.A..L.TATE.16/LCRSAlfred Leonard Tate was educated at Charterhouse & was commissioned in to the 5th Cheshire Regiment in 1900. He served in South Africa during the Boer war of 1899-1902 with the 16th Lancers & was a Major with the Remount department of the ASC during WW1 but never served overseas. He was however M.I.D in the 1917 new years honours list. He died at his Home Swinford Lodge, Leicestershire 8-12-1962 age 81.NEF & Engraved in the correct style for officers. Complete with basic research details.
