GVIR 2nd type N.G.S 1915-1962 With Minsweeping 1945-51 clasp & GVIR 1st type RN LS&GCTo- C/KX67287.M.E.S.LYON.CH.STO.RN (NGS)K67287.M.E.S.LYON.L.STO.HMS.ROYAL.SOVEREIGN (LS&GC)Maurice Edwin Stokoe Lyon was born in India 24-3-1908 & enlisted in to the Royal Navy as a boy sailor in 1923 with service number J.108676. He transferred to be a stoker in 1928 and was issued with the new service number K.62787. He was serving at HMS Pembroke when war broke out but was posted to HMS Royal Sovereign in January 1940. He remained with the ship until 1943 & was awarded his RN LS&GC in 1941. He was posted to HMS St Angelo in May 1943 & remained with her for the rest of the war. He remained in the service & was finally pensioned to shore in 1948.GVF/NEF & Complete with copy service papers
