A nice family group to two bothers1) 1914-15 TrioTo- K.17481.S.A.GOODWIN.STO.1.RNSidney Alfred Goodwin was born in Suffolk 1-3-1893 & enlisted in to the Royal Navy in 1913. He was lost at sea 5-9-1914 when HMS Pathfinder was sunk by the German U-Boat U-21 off St Abbs head in Berwickshire.He has no known grave other than the sea & is commemorated on the Chatham naval memorial. He was 20 years of age at the time of his death & is recorded by the CWGC as the late son of Ellen.E.Goodwin of 23 valley terrace, Leiston, Suffolk.2) 1914-15 TrioTo- K.18542.T.G.GOODWIN.STO.1.RNThomas George Goodwin was born in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk 8-11-1890 & enlisted in to the Royal Navy in 1913. He spent most of his WW1 Service onboard HMS Commonwealth & HMS Lord Nelson & was discharged to the RFR in 1921.both trios are NEF & come complete with copy service papers & CWGC details for the fatal casualty.
