A scarce original First World War period 'Voluntary Aid Detachment Bucks official issue pin badge'; Crowned gilt oval bearing Buckinghamshire's County emblem, a white 'Swan' on half red half black enamel centre within blue enamel title surround, the reverse impressed with maker's details 'J.R.Gaunt London' and with low official issue number '392'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no stress marks or damage to the enamel, gilt finish remains bright, light surface scratches only.Height approx 39mm.
