WWI / WW2 US Army – COMMANDER TRIPOD OPTICAL MOUNTING POST – VERY NICE!

You are bidding on a SUPERB used example of WW1 / WW2 US Army Tripod Optical Mounting Post! This would have been attached to tripods for was used in the front line trenches for artillery and observation.Made by brass and aluminum, this Tripod Optical Mounting Post is in VERY NICE used condition! Used to help view and plot artillery attacks from behind cover (avoid exposing the commander to danger) it is identicalin construction to similar parts of the Model 1918 US Army Battery Commander Tripod (see last photos), so I am assuming it is from the same era. It does have some marks, scratches, and wear, but nothing that detracts. Would make a PERFECT addition to any collection or display!
