WW2 German Wehrmacht – LEATHER CANTEEN STRAP – NICE!

You are bidding on a GOOD example of a WW2 German Wehrmacht M31/M42 Leather Canteen Strap!The M31 canteen was based on the M1893 and M1907 canteen which were used throughout WW1.These were originally manufactured in aluminum, but as aluminum was required for use in other equipment (aircraft, for example), they were then re-designed to be manufactured in steel. For tropical climates, the canteen was made of pressed wood with canvas straps.Made of pig skin leather and steel, this canteen strap set is in VERY GOOD condition for its age. Some marks and wear throughout, as but nothing that detracts. The steel clip is maker marked, and retains 95% original paint. Would make a SUPERB addition to any collection or display!
