A scarce original 1924 period '1924 British Empire Exhibition pin badge on original display card' large gilt brass example inlaid with red, white and blue enamels, in the form of a flower head, depicting the names of the Colonies from around the world participating in the exhibition in petal form with rotating hand as a pointer, mounted by the 'Wembley Lion' resting on curved scrolls 'British Empire Exhibition' with year '1924' below; the reverse impressed with details in relief 'Prov.Patent No 8418/24'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel, gilt finish remains bright.Height approx 41mm.Participating Countries of 1924 British Empire Exhibition were Great Britain, India, East Indies, South Africa, East Africa, West Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Newfoundland, Canada, Malaysia and West Indies.
