MG42 last production bipod 'hec WaA'

An incredibly rare original late, last production era bipod for the MG42 in original wartime blued condition.The only complete example of this type as a spare that we have ever come across in 15+ years of specialising in MG34/42 items!This bipod would have been fitted to late 1944 & 1945 dated MG42s, and its production was further simplified and much more crude - compared to the already fairly rudimentary design of the standard variant.It is very nicely maker coded 'hec' andWaffenamtproof marked, as shown.The original locking latch is included yet loose - however with no impact on the function of the bipod at all when fitted.This was the model which would go on to form the basis of the bipod for the later MG3 etc.An incredibly rare part set to find, and one which would complete any late MG42 perfectly!
