German War Artists by John Paul Weber-This hardcover was printed in 1979 by the Cerberus Book Co. This is a first edition, but is not numbered by the author. The first edition was limited to 500 copies The dustcover shows some shelf wear, but overall, this is in very good condition with a tight binding and no markings or discoloration in the book itself. The book focuses on the 8,722 works of art created by approximately 369 German artists that were commissioned or produced during the Third Reich. It details the seizure and confiscation of these war-related works by Allied Powers following Germany's defeat, and how they were held at the pentagon during 1947 and classified 'war booty'. The book has 151 pages and contains numerous color and black-and-white reproductions of the confiscated art, along with historical documents and photographs. In very good condition.
