Description

You are bidding on a NICE example of a 1st Model 1940's WW2 German Luftwaffe 8-day Kienzle Clock, Fl. 22602! This was used in many early German aircraft types, such as the Ju52, Ar68, Ar66, Fw44, Fw56, and others!Mounted on the main instrument panel, this clock needs no introduction. It was made famous throughout the war as one of the standard German Aircraft Cockpit Clocks. It was usually mounted on the front or side cockpit consoles and features an adjustable bezel.Made of brass, aluminum, and wood, this first model Kienzle was made between 1935 and 1939. It is a VERY nice example and retains 95% of its original finish!100% FUNCTIONAL…however…the tab that is used to adjust the time has broken off. The time can still be set, but it is a bit finicky. A new tab will need to be added in order to set the time easily. The RARE retaining/mounting ring is also still present (these usually go missing). There are some slight scratches and marks, but is in otherwise EXCELLENT condition and the hands still glow at night (must be charged with UV light)! Would make a FANTASTIC addition to any collection, display, or restoration project!
