Description

You are bidding on a VERY RARE used example of a WW2 German Wehrmacht Issue Buren (A. Lunser, berlin) Pocket Watch! These were issued to both Officers and Petty Officers, and were usually issued on loan (though some were available for private purchase).Produced for the German military, all issued wristwatches were required to follow a specific standard, this being: case made of a chromium plated brass; a manual winding movement; water resistant; dust/moisture proof; and are a total of 15 jewels. A secondary hand is to be located at the 6 o'clock position indicating seconds, and both main hands are to be luminous.Adolf Lunser was a watch dealer and supplier to the German Military, supplying a significant supplier of military and luxury timepieces to German officials.Made of a nickel-plated brass case, this Swiss-made Buren watch is in EXCELLENT functioning condition. Though the crystal shows some light scratches, the dial and hands are in VERY NICE condition, with NO damage or corrosion! Note that because I use a camera flash, the scratches show up more pronounced than they are in person. The manufacture name is clearly marked on the face, and was manufactured in 1940.Being in used condition, the case does show some signs of wear (scratches, marks, patina), but it is in otherwise VERY NICE condition for its age.The movement has not been serviced in 30 years, so even though it is currently running, I would suggest getting it cleaned for daily use. A VERY nice and original item for any collection, or display!
