Description
You are bidding on a STUNNING used example of a WW1 German Reichsmarine Revue Navigational Deck Watch! These were issued to both NCOs and Officers for bridge duty, navigation support, signal timing, and engine room intervals.During the Second World War, the German Kriegsmarine relied heavily on high-precision Swiss timepieces, and Revue was among the most respected manufacturers used for naval service.Revue Thommen is a historic Swiss watchmaker, founded in 1853, known for its precision timepieces and aviation instruments, with a history featuring brand name changes (like GΓ©dΓ©on Thommen to Revue Thommen) and significant innovations such as aircraft chronographs and altimeters.Made of brass with a nickel plated casing, this Swiss-made Revue Pocket Watch is in EXCELLENT functioning condition! Though the crystal shows some light scratches, the dial and hands are in near MINT condition, with NO damage or corrosion! Note that because I use a camera flash, the scratches show up more pronounced than they actually are in person. The name, 'G. Steuerwald, Batavia' (who was also connected IWC, producing and selling watches under that name), is clearly marked on the dial.Being in used condition, the case does show some signs of wear (scratches, marks, patina), but it is in otherwise VERY NICE condition for its age. Thereverse features anImperial Reichsmarine Eagle, over top of an 'M',Though it is 100% functional, the movement has not been serviced in 30 years, so I would suggest getting it cleaned for daily use. A VERY RARE and UNIQUE piece of history, it would make for a VERY NICE addition to any collection, or display!
