42nd East Lancashire Division Formation Sign Old Members Association Badge

A very scarce original inter war period '42nd East Lancashire Division gilt brass enamel lapel badge' in the form of a red enamel title circlet, the voided centre depicting a diamond division sign inlaid with half white, half red enamel and beaing white enamel motto scroll 'Go One Better' (bestowed on the division by its commander Major-General Arthur Solly-Flood on 1 March 1918), the reverse impressed with maker's details 'J.R.Gaunt & Son London'. Very good condition, no enamel loss, minor surface scratches.Diameter approx 25mm.
