Description

The jungle jacket of Brigadier General (and later Major General) Del Mar shows wear and use, but it is without holes, damage or repairs. The left shoulder carries the subdued insignia of the U.S. Army in Vietnam. General Del Mar served in the Pacific Theater in World War II as an infantry officer in the 77th Infantry Division. He subsequently served as the Commanding General of the U.S. Army Support Command for the Pacific-Vietnam, at Cam Rahn Bay. His decorations included the Combat Infantry Badge; the Distinguished Service Medal; the Legion of Merit; the Bronze Star Medal with 'V' device and three oak leaf clusters; and the Purple Heart with two oak leaf clusters. Overall the jungle jacket is in very good condition.
