Description
Offered here is a very attractive transitional SS dagger, produced by P.D. Lüneschloss, Solingen, RZM coded M7/14 and dated 1936. This example shows a correct and well-documented mixed-metal construction typical of transitional production, with an iron (magnetic) top nut, solid nickel-silver crossguards, and plated, magnetic scabbard fittings. The blade remains in excellent to excellent-plus condition and has not been cleaned, still retaining its clear original factory cross-grain finish throughout. The tip is sharp and well defined, and the acid-etched motto'Meine Ehre heißt Treue'is crisp and deeply executed. The reverse RZM maker mark is neatly struck, with only light, honest surface wear consistent with age. The steel-based scabbard retains approximately 99% of its original black enamel paint, is completely dent-free, and closes with a firm snap. The fittings remain bright with excellent plating coverage, and the ball retains its original round form. The black-dyed hardwood grip is in good condition, remains solid, and displays the original owner's carved initials 'FW' on the reverse, adding period character. The solid nickel eagle is sharply detailed, and the SS roundel retains approximately 95% of its original enamel. This dagger is accompanied by its original hanger, correctly marked Assmann RZM M5/8, with supple leather and a properly functioning DRGM-marked clip. Overall, this is a high-quality and honest transitional SS dagger with strong collector appeal.SHIPPING ONLY IN MAINLAND EUROPE!
