The Attributed White Summer Uniform Tunic of U.S. Army Major General and DSC Recipient Frederick W. Collins

Available
$550.00

Description

The white tunic was tailored in Hong Kong of a high quality tropical weight wool. Each shoulder bears the rank stars of a Major General. The ribbons reflect the award of the Distinguished Service Cross, the Silver Star, the Bronze Star with 'V' device, and the Purple Heart, as well as several foreign awards to include the Order of the British Empire (Military). General Collins served with the 4th Infantry Division in Europe in World War II, with subsequent combat service in the Korean War. The tunic has an engraved brass plaque sewn to the left sleeve cuff, with the plaque identifying the tunic as having belonged to General Collins. The tunic exhibits some age toning and subtle spots, but overall it is in excellent condition.
