You are bidding on a VERY NICE example of a WW2 German Polizei (Police) Reversible Winter Camouflage Hood! Finished in blue-green on one side and white on the reverse, this type of hood was intended for cold weather wear and quick adaptation to changing concealment needs.Following the severe winter conditions of 1941–42, German forces introduced improved standardized winter clothing systems that included reversible parkas, trousers, mittens, and hoods. Early-war issue commonly appeared in reversible blue/mouse-grey/white combinations, with later-war production shifting toward camouflage pattern/white combinations for improved field concealment.Made of water-resistant wool/rayon, this reversible hood is in EXCELLENT used condition! It features the standard blue-green dyed fabric with a white reversible interior, showing expected light handling and storage wear. It features the original tie string, which was designed to tie around the wearers neck. The bottom features four large panels that were designed to tuck under the jacket in order to retain the most warmth possible. No manufacture markings, but it is stamped with a '57' size marking. As it was used in the field, there are some slight marks and stains. Would make a SUPERB addition to any collection or display!
