German WWII 98K combat Bayonet-This is a nice example of a combat 98K bayonet. The finish on the hilt and the scabbard has toned to a gorgeous dark gray color. The brown ribbed bakelite grip plates are in very good condition. The mortise button works. Interesting that there are no waffenamts on the hilt at all. There is one at the tip of the scabbard. And speaking of the scabbard, it is very well marked with both 44ASW for the year of manufacture and the maker E&F Hörster as well as the serial number 174. The tone of the scabbard matches the fittings, giving this bayonet a very nice look.
