WW1 1914-15 Trio with boxes of issue & original documentsTo- 15-1331.PTE.C.CAMPLEMAN.W.YORK.RCharles Campleman was born in Leeds & enlisted at Colsterdale. He was one of the original members of the 15th service battalion of the West Yorkshire Regiment / Leeds pals & first landed overseas with the battalion in Egypt 6-12-1915. He was sadly killed in action on the first day of the battle of the Somme 1-7-1916 & having no known grave other than the Somme he is commemorated on the Thiepval memorial.NEF/EF & Complete with boxes of issue, postal envelopes, condolence / issue slips, award letters all addressed to his next of kin who lived on Woodhouse lane in Leeds. Along with MIC details, medal roll details, CWGC details & SDGW details.
