A scarce original 'State Certified Midwife' gilt metal oval badge, depicting the symbolic figure of 'Juno Lucina' Roman goddess of childbirth within a blue enamel title surround bearing 'S.C.M' to the top and laurel wreath below; the reverse impressed with maker's details 'Thomas Fattorini Regent St Birmingham'. Good condition, complete with original pin fittings with facility to attach a safety chain, no enamel loss, minor service wear.Height approx 36mm.
