Vintage Plummet Major Throwing Knife by J. Nowill and Sons Sheffield with Leather Sheath

Here on offer is a fine example of a vintage Plummet Major throwing knife by J. Nowill and Sons of Sheffield, complete with its original leather sheath.This throwing knife has been made using a full tang construction. The double-edged thick spear tip blade and is made of a high quality mirror polished stainless steel.On one side it is lightly etched with:Plummet MajorThrowing KnifeAnd the maker's name:NowillSheffieldThe plain grip scales are made from ebony hardwood and are held securely in place by two large stainless steel flat rivets.John Nowill & Sons have been making high quality knives for over six generations. They are the parent company for three other old established Sheffield knife makers, F.E & J. R. Hopkinson, J. Adams Co. and Austin McGillivray & Company.It comes with its original brown leather sheath that is in excellent condition but I think the small retaining strap is missing at the top.
