German WWI Trench Art, 7.7cm l.F.K. 96 Shell Casing, Marne

Original period manufacture. Full size shell casing which has not been trimmed down, but has been nicely turned into a typical WWI souvenir that of a shell vase. Maker marked on the bottom HL (Haniel Luege Dsseldorf) and dated Aug.1917.Very nice quality of decoration performed on this old casing with a pleasing brass patina finish.
