Here's an extremely rare photograph showing, in wear the Knights Cross of the War Merit Cross with Swords (KriegsverdienstKreuz mit Schwerten) . This award is very rare indeed, being awarded only 118 times, consequently finding a photo of a recipient wearing the award is virtually impossible.This photo shows the Director of Mining Gustav Knepper following presentation of the award by Hitler, on the recommendation of the Minister of war production Albert Speer.
