Description
Original example of 'De Oranjepost,' issue number 32, dated 6 August 1936, with a print run of 10,000 copies. This rare weekly newspaper for Gelderland and Overijssel was a regional publication of the National Socialist Movement in the Netherlands (NSB), led by Ir. A.A. Mussert. The paper was edited and administered from Arnhem (Parkstraat 13).The front page features, among other items, the article 'De vriendschap versterkt in Midden-Europa' ('Friendship Strengthened in Central Europe') and references to international developments in Germany, Austria, and Italy. Various Dutch locations are mentioned throughout the issue, including Arnhem, Rheden, Winterswijk, Zutphen, Rijssen, Amsterdam, Nijmegen, Velp, Heteren, Dieren, and 's-Heerenberg. Foreign references include Poland, Germany, Hungary, Italy, and the Soviet Union. This issue also contains sections such as 'Kringnieuws' (with departments in Arnhem and Zutphen), advertisements from local entrepreneurs including J.M. Bosveld (Arnhem), G.J. van Leeuwen Jr. (Heteren), and H.J. Caro (Velp), as well as propagandistic announcements of NSB publications such as 'Het Nederlandsche Fascisme' by Dr. C.B. Hylkema, and works by Dr. W.Th. Boissevain, Dr. H.W. van der Vaart Smit, and Jhr. Groeninx van Zoelen. This original newspaper issue provides a compelling snapshot of the political and social climate in the Netherlands during the 1930s and serves as a historical document within the context of pre-war Dutch politics. An interesting and scarce collector's item for those interested in NSB material and Second World War–related history.Article number: 18145Originele 1936 Nederlandse NSB krant 'Oranjepost' Gelderland and Overijssel
