Exceptional and extensive Dutch certificate group named to C.J.M. Kretschmer de Wilde (27839), Lieutenant at Sea of Special Services 1st Class (later Lieutenant at Sea 1st Class SD), comprising multiple official award documents dating from 1949–1957.The set includes, among others, the War Commemorative Cross with clasps for Netherlands East Indies 1941–1942and Java Sea 1941–1942, issued at 's-Gravenhage on 2 November 1949 by the Minister of the Navy. In addition, the group contains several certificates for the Decoration for Order and Peace, with clasps for the years 1945, 1946, 1947, and 1948, issued in 1950 and 1952.Also present is the certificate for the Decoration for Long and Faithful Service as an Officer, awarded on 6 December 1957.Of particular international significance is the original French certificate of the République Française – Ordre National de la Légion d'Honneur, by which Kretschmer de Wilde was appointed Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur in Paris on 5 April 1955, in his capacity as Capitaine de Corvette and naval attaché.This fully preserved document group forms an impressive and historically coherent ensemble relating to one Dutch naval officer, with awards connected to the Second World War, the campaign in the Netherlands East Indies, and the post-war period.
