US WWI-WWII, M1904 Leather Saddlebags, Canvas Liners & Two White Canvas Ration Bags, Excellent Condition

Original period manufacture. A very fine condition pair of 1904 pattern mounted troops saddlebags, complete with belly strap, white canvas inserts and two white cotton ration bags. The bags exhibit minimal wear and use, all leather is intact and very pliable, with no evidence of oil or saddle soap being applied. Embossed US in an oval on each flap, but there are no other visible markings, none. However there is a WWII type soldier property number under the flap of one bag, D 9835, which indicates that his last name began with the letter D and his service number ended in 9835, providing possible research potential.
