WW2 National Fire Service Steel-helmet from No 1 (Gosforth) District.

Olive-green steel-helmet with National Fire Service (NFS) King's crown decal insignia to the front with the District number '1' below indicating Gosforth , Newcastle. The helmet is complete with liner and chinstrap and is in very good used condition with only service scuffing to the paintwork. No dents or damage. The lining is clean and intact and the original chinstrap is in place though showing signs of wear and looks to have been repaired at some stage.. There is a hand-painted serial number '106343' under the rear rim. A nice example.
