Norfolk Regiment was killed in action on 17th November, 1914The Son of William C.and Susan Clarke, of 'Crossways' Lynn Road, Downham, Norfolk.He was born and enlisted in Downham Market, and is commemorated on The Basra Memorial.He arrived in Mesopotamia on 15/11/1914.He was one of the first soldiers of The 2nd Btn., Norfolk Regiment to be killed in this campaign.He is additionally commemorated on the Downham Market War Memorial
