Description
As collections change hands these days, some very fine items are coming out, that a decade ago were too rare to even contemplate finding. This falls in that category, as an M36 tailored piece, rank of SS- Obersturmführer, Deutschland regiment. It has updated 1940 style shoulder straps, yellow piped for signals, but still bears the SS-VT style 'SS1' collar tab and matching Ostuf. rank tab. The sleeve eagle is an army pattern in bullion– the photographic record shows instance after instance of SS-VT officers wearing Army sleeve Eagles, mainly because in the early days, many of them held an Army rank status as well. The cuff title is flatwire classic Gothic lettering. The piece is free from damage. It is looped for iron cross first class with spange, as well as another award. And it also has the old fighter's Chevron. The badging appears to be period correct with some repair stitching along the top edge of the sleeve eagle. Overall, a great and highly sought-after piece for the collection, COA Accompanies.
