You are bidding on a NICE example of WW2 German Wehrmacht Selbstfahrlafetten-Zielfernrohr Sfl.Z.F. 1a 5×8 Gun Scope Sighting Head, as used on various Assault Guns and Tank Destroyers!This is a RARE type of variant, and was SPECIFIC to the JagdPzr. 38t 'Hetzer', Sturmgeschütz StuG III/IV, and Sturmpanzer 43 'Brummbär'!Having a magnification of 5×8°, this was the gunners main aiming scope.It was used in conjunction with the 7.5mm Pak 39 L/48, 7.5cm StuK 40 L/48, 15cm StuH 43 L/12 cannons!Made of aluminum and steel, this anti-tank aiming scope Sighting / Periscope Head was manufactured between 1944 and 1945.It retains 90% of its original Dunkelgelb paint and finish, but does have some slight damage as you can see in the photos. No major corrosion or major damage, this is a RARE variant, having a tapered base, as opposed to the common straight type!The manufacture code and data information is stamped into the side, indicating:Sfl.
