Merchant Navy official issue MN war service silver badge

A scarce original Second War period unmarked silver 'MN' lapel badge, made by Royal Mint and officially issued from January 1940 to all Merchant Navy officers and men as a form of identity and to fulfill the role of a National Service badge. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole fitting.Height approx 23mm.
