Original Dutch Grand Cross of the Order of Orange-Nassau (civil division), comprising the wide sash in orange with blue and white stripes and the accompanying badge with crown.The badge is crafted in silver gilt, with white and deep blue enamel on the cross arms, and features in the central medallion the Dutch lion with the motto 'Je Maintiendrai,' surrounded by gilt laurel wreaths. The royal crown and details are likewise richly executed in gilt silver.The sash is made of heavy moiré silk and finished with rosette and bow, entirely in accordance with the civil division as worn on official state occasions.This example dates to approximately the 1950s and represents a fine piece from the post-war period of the Dutch honors system.
