Description

German WWII Left Facing Army Eagle Belt Buckle-This buckle is a parade buckle with excellent detailing and finish. This is the transitional buckle between the Reichswehr buckle and the post March 1936 Heer buckle. These buckles were only produced in '36 for a short period of time (January 1936 to March 1936). It is said that Hitler wanted the eagle to be forward facing, not looking backward. So, the design was modified. The buckle is of a two-piece aluminum construction. The front roundel with the eagle and swastika is separately attached with 4 prongs on the back. There is a half-moon catch, and aluminum rollbar. This is a scarce buckle for sure! It is also in near excellent condition with a shiny aluminum finish that is very good.
